BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Surveillance video at the Twin Peaks on Calle Milpa Verde on November 19th shows a man approaching the clerk, displaying a weapon, and demanding money. The clerk gives the suspect the money, and then he takes off. Police say Miguel Perez and a juvenile were involved in the aggravated robbery.
"Patrol officers detained the juvenile. He advised that the other individual identified as Miguel Perez as being involved. Through investigations and through a lineup the witnesses identified the juvenile and Mr. Perez as being involved in the aggravated robbery."said Jose Trevino with the Brownsville Police Department.
Police say besides the robbery at the Twin Peaks on Calle Milpa Verde the suspects may be involved in other robberies.
Police say just prior to the robbery at the Twin Peaks on Calle Milpa Verde the Hernandez Food Store was hit, and three days earlier another Twin Peaks on Southmost road was robbed at gunpoint by masked men.
"The motive was the same, basically it was the same type of assault, a robbery, weapons are a little different, but that is what they are trying to determine whether they were involved or not."said Trevino.
