HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Harlingen police arrested two men after they attempted to steal a 18 pack of soda from a local convenience store.
On Tuesday, December 3rd at around 1 a.m. police responded to the 1200 block of North 77 Sunshine Strip in reference to an attempted theft at a Stripes store.
The two suspects were caught in the act, but dropped the 18 pack and ran from the scene. The responding officer located the two men on the 400 block of E. Grimes Avenue and they were identified as Miguel Angel Alfonso, 29, and Michael Anthony Arvizu, 24.
Arvizu was found in possession of brass knuckles and charged with prohibited weapon and Alfonso was found to be intoxicated to the point that he was a danger to himself or others and was charged with possession of marijuana and public intoxication.
Arvizu's bond was set at $3,500 dollars and for Alfonso bond was set at $2,100 dollars.
