AUSTIN, TX — Actress America Ferrara headlined an immigration rally at the University of Texas in Austin
Actress America Ferrera headlined the rally which was in response to the "Catch an illegal immigrant" game.
The game was eventually canceled due to backlash.
Ferrara is the co-chair of Voto Latino's Artist Coalition and is also co-chair of the non-profit's "I'm Ready for Immigration Reform" campaign.
Ferrara says there are enough votes in the House to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill and called for House Speaker John Boehner to schedule a vote, "Passing immigration reform isn't a matter of time; it's a matter of will. Right now, today, the votes exist to pass immigration reform with a path to citizenship. The Senate did its job and passed a bill with strong bipartisan support, and nearly 30 House Republicans support a similar bill in their chambers. Now it's time for the House of Representatives to do their job.".
