A witness to yesterday's shooting at Wisconsin hospital speaks out about her experience. Michele Fiore reports.
(WTMJ) The shooting at Children's Hospital on Thursday affected more than just those involved, it affected children and their families all over Wisconsin. The hospital's CEO responded with a statement late Thursday night -
Today we experienced a frightening situation at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin.
We are still waiting for all the details to emerge. What we do know is that a man who was visiting our hospital was involved in an altercation with police and was shot.
My heart goes out to the family involved, to all of our patients and families who were here at the time, and to all of our employees who worked together to relieve patients and families of their fears. As the news broke, I know that friends and family were worried as they waited for details to emerge.
As the day unfolded, I was reminded of a quote by Fred Rogers (aka Mr. Rogers) who said, "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.'"
