PHARR SAN JUAN ALAMO, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A San Juan woman is behind bars for operating an illegal pharmacy from her home.
San Juan Police used an undercover sting and found thousands of illicit and over the counter drugs in the home of Maria Garza.
The investigation lasted about a week. Among the drugs was about $18,000 in cash. The value of everything still is yet to be determined.
"It all just depends on what the pills are, just to give you an estimate, that corner of the alprazolam, she was selling them for $4 a pill, there's over 3,500 pills there," said Rolando Garcia of the San Juan Police Department. "We're looking at $14,000 just in that one corner, so it's going to an extensive search of all the pills before we get an exact amount."
Garza was selling the drugs from her car and at the flea market in Alamo.
