Police seek 15-year-old Michigan girl and the 37-year-old man she ran away with. Roger Weber reports.
(WDIV) Michigan police are asking for the public's help in finding a 15-year-old teenage girl and a 37-year-old man who were last seen Sunday night in Northville Township.
Emily Lalinsky and Bob Messer left matching notes behind for their respective families, in which they declared their love for one another.
Lisa Schwartz, Emily's mother, said she and her children first met Bob Messer eight years ago at a church. Over time, they grew to go on trips together and celebrate holidays.
"He was like a brother to me and was like my kids' dad," Schwartz said.
Schwartz said she never notice any red flags in the relationship.
"They never held hands, or acted romantically involved. Am I that naive that I missed everything? Were there signs and I missed them?" Schwartz asked.
