MCALLEN, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — McAllen police arrested a man accused of attempting to rob a woman and then shooting at her as she pulled away in her vehicle.
On Saturday, October 26th police were called to the 100 block of East Nolana in reference to shots being fired in the area.
Police came into contact with a woman who stated that while sitting in her vehicle a man, later identified as Elenison Flores-Rodriguez, had approached and threatened to shoot her if she didn't open the car door.
The victim refused to open the door and as she drove off Rodriguez fired the weapon at her direction. The victim provided a description of Rodriguez and officers were able to locate and detain him.
During the officers questioning, Rodriguez falsely identified himself both verbally and with documents, but a fingerprint check revealed his true identity.
Rodriguez was charged with aggravated robbery, tampering with governmental records and failure to identify and handed a $183,500 bond.
