LA JOYA, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The chancellor of the UT System stopped by La Joya High School to chat with students about the new medical school coming to the Valley.
Francisco Cigarroa took part in a question and answer session with juniors and seniors at La Joya about the new university coming to South Texas.
The chancellor says he is excited about the intelligence and maturity showcased by the students during his visit.
"It's gonna take me a whole day to get the goose bumps off me because I was really inspired by these wonderful students," said Cigerroa. "These are the students we want to attract to our university, we want to learn from what our students in high school wanna learn about the university. And so how can we be a university and not listen to high school students? It's impossible."
The chancellor continued his Valley visit with a trip to the UTPA campus.
