HIDALGO COUNTY, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The son of Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino will not face a charge of assaulting a public servant.
A grand jury did not press charges on John Carlos Trevino  after a July incident where Trevino allegedly assaulted a jailer.
Trevino was arrested by McAllen police on July 27. He was allegedly knocking on doors in a drunken state in the early morning hours demanding to be allowed inside.
Charges of public intoxication and resisting arrest against Trevino are still pending.
