HIDALGO, TX (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Hidalgo County Sheriff investigators have identified the body found by a jogger at a canal bank.
On October 9th at around 6 p.m. a jogger, while running, found a body on a canal bank located south of 13 Mile and north on Mile 2 West.
Investigators have identified the body as Francisco Ortiz-Vicencio, 34, of Progresso, Tamaulipas.
An autopsy revealed that Ortiz died from a gunshot wound to his upper torso, he had no criminal history other than federal deportations and was a day labor with no family in the United States.
