RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — It's that time of year again, Winter Texans are starting to settle into various RV parks in the Valley, Marty Watson tells us about how many out of towners we should expect this winter.
That cooler air is starting to trickle in and so are the Winter Texans and they're coming from all over the United States and Canada as Sunshine RV Resort Manager Lon Huff states, "If you look at the US on a map and you take a line from South Texas and you build a funnel out of it, that corridor is where our people come from and that would be Ohio, Wisconsin, Minnesota, New York, Quebec, Ontario."
Winter Texan Marvin Isgrig commented, "We love the Valley. The people in the Valley are so nice compared to Florida or over on the East Coast so we decided to stay. We're almost living full time here now. That's usually what happens, if the come down and stay one winter like I did, then you buy a place so you can come back the next year."
While Sunshine RV Resort may have had their best numbers last year, certain conditions in the Valley may determine how many come down this year.
