SAN JUAN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — The man accused of stabbing his soon-to-be ex-wife has been arraigned on attempted murder charges today.
Jose Canamar, 37, is accused of stabbing his estranged wife, Joanna Estrada, 29, and then stabbing himself on Sunday, October 13th  on the 1500 block of Scotty Street in San Juan.
San Juan Police were called in just before 2:30 a.m. to find the 29-year-old victim, Joanna Estrada, in the front yard with multiple stab wounds. The suspect, Jose Canamar, allegedly ran to the back of the house and stabbed himself multiple times in the neck.
Both he and Estrada were taken to a local hospital and listed in serious condition, but today Canamar was released to authorities and arraigned on attempted murder charges and handed a $500,000 bond.
