BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Brownsville I.S.D. is still investigating the school bus that caught fire  last week.
Brownsville I.S.D. says an electrical malfunction appears to be the cause of the fire. Forty eight students and the driver safely got off the bus at 14th Street and Frontage Road on Friday afternoon before the fire started.
A B.I.S.D. spokesperson says the driver, Norma Medina, will be honored at an upcoming board meeting for her quick thinking to get the kids off the bus safely.
