BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A jury sentenced Francisco Matamoros, 43, Monday evening to life in prison for continuous sexual abuse of a child with no possibility for parole.
The victim, now 16, stated that the abuse began in 2007.
Matamoros, a Harlingen resident, was found guilty Friday of one count of continuous sexual abuse of a child and two counts of sexual assault of a child .He was sentenced to life in prison for continuous sexual abuse of a child and 20 years for each count of sexual assault of a child. Matamoros was additionally fined $10,000 for the two counts of sexual assault of a child.
The Cameron County District Attorney’s Office was successful in utilizing Jessica’s Law that was enacted in 2007.
