BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The public is invited to help us celebrate the grand opening of the Russell Aquatic Ecology Center.
The Center measures 6,535 square feet and occupies the former Aquatic Wing site as well as a section of the large adjacent Bongo display yard. It’ll features: a shark discovery exhibit, a ray "touch pool," the Keppel AmFELS Ghostly Jellyfish exhibit, a mangrove tank, ancient mariners and a jetties exhibit.
Colorful, suspended educational banners and graphics will communicate key concepts concerning ecosystems and the need to preserve them. The Center will be open during regular hours of operation. For additional information call the Gladys Porter Zoo at (956) 546-7187 or visit www.gpz.org .
