Wind gusts are reaching up to gusts of 45 miles per hour.
73 year old Claus Lechte and other kite surfers on the island had a tough time kite surfing. Kite surfer for 4 years John Laudenslager says wind is good for kite surfing, but when gusts get to strong it makes it very difficult to do tricks.
Kite surfing was not the only activity affected by the wind.
Krissy Rivas works with breakaway cruises. They offer parasailing.
They received several calls up people wanting to go up, but were forced to cancel because of the strong winds. On the weekend is when the majority of their customers come.
But they may have to cancel again as the winds are expected to be strong over the weekend. But they still make a profit because the business has other activities.
