HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Harlingen police arrested a couple for possession of marijuana and controlled substance after the driver failed to stop at an intersection.
On Thursday, September 19th around 10 p.m. a Harlingen police officer made a traffic stop on a 2002 Saturn for failing to make a complete stop at the intersection of Wilson Road and North Frontage Road.
The driver, identified as Jeromy Vela Sr., 32, and his passenger Judith Barron, 29, were both questioned by the officer. A records check revealed that Vela had a suspended license and no insurance on the vehicle the officer then searched the vehicle finding a mason jar containing marijuana and synthetic cannabinoid.
Both Vela and Barron were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance.
