SAN JUAN, TX ( KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — A man involved in a home invasion in San Juan last weekend is facing a bond set at nearly $1 million.
Juan Carlos Lopez Trevino, 33, is charged with one count aggravated assault, two counts aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count evading arrest. All four charges total up to $900,000.
San Juan police believe the house was targeted with a possible narcotics motive.
"When we made contact with him, he immediately started making comments of the robbery saying he had nothing to do with it, it was his cousin, and even came out with an 8"x10" photo of his cousin ready for us to start working on," said Sgt. Rolando Garcia of the San Juan Police Department. "We hadn't even gotten around to asking him a question yet and he had already started doing that, so we knew we were on the right track."
Police are still looking for Salome Lopez Trevino, cousin of the suspect already in custody. San Juan investigators have not yet identified the third suspect involved in the home invasion.
