BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers working the Veterans' port of entry seized nearly $2 million in heroin.
On Wednesday, September 18th CBP officers encountered a female driver, 21, and a male passenger, 28, both from San Benito in a 2007 Honda Pilot attempting to cross into the United States.
The vehicle was sent to a secondary inspection where CBP officers found eight packages of alleged heroin weighing over 19 pounds with a street value estimated at $1,960,000.
The two occupants were arrested and handed over to Homeland Security investigators for further questioning.
