AUSTIN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Texas Department of Public Safety announced several offices will be opened on Saturdays to help people who need their election ID certificates in order to comply with the new voter ID law. If you have a valid driver's license or a Social Security card you will not need a voter certificate.
Only 50 offices in the state will be open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. including four in the Rio Grande Valley.
Brownsville, Harlingen, Edinburg and Mission DPS offices will be operating under the new special hours which run through November 6th.
