WESLACO, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Weslaco Police want the public's help in a murder case. Huriel Garza was found last week in Weslaco. The discovery was made after complaints of a foul smell in a vacant apartment.
An autopsy revealed that the 35-year-old died of asphixiation. The body had been in the apartment for nearly a week.
"We had a report that a foul smell was emitting from inside the apartment," said David Barbosa of the Weslaco Police Department. "Officers went out there and discovered the body of this male subject. The decomposition state of the body indicates that it might have been four to six days."
Garza's 2001 Ford Mustang is also missing. Anybody with information is encouraged to call the Weslaco Police Department.
