BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Brownsville police have arrested the suspect accused of robbing a Family Dollar store, in the Southmost area, at gunpoint.
On Friday, September 13th during the lunch period, a Family Dollar store on the 5600 block of Southmost Road was robbed at gunpoint by a suspect, later identified as Carlos Santana, 32, who walked into the store and shot one time at the ceiling.
Santana took under a $100 and fled in a yellow Ford Mustang with no license plates, but officer patrolled the surround area and were able to locate the vehicle on Kevin Drive and take Santana into custody for questioning.
Through the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant and found clothing, money and a handgun at his residence. Santana was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon and received a $100,000 bond.
