BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Gateway and Brownsville Bridge intercepted nearly half a million dollars worth of cocaine.
On Wednesday, September 11th Custom officers encountered a white 2007 Chrysler Sebring driven by a man and his wife from Matamoros.
The vehicle was referred to a secondary inspection where officers discovered six packages of alleged cocaine hidden within the car.
The total weight of the packages was over 15 lbs. and the estimated street value was approximately $496,000.
