Too much styling can damage your hair. How to keep it healthy and looking good
Most women blow dry and style their hair as part of their morning routine, but many of our styling habits can wreak havoc on our hair.
It's been said a woman's hair is her crowning glory but if you aren't careful, it could lose some of its luster.
Dr. Corinne Erickson: heat is probably the single most damaging thing we're overexposing our hair to.
Whether from a blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron, heat leaves the hair looking dull and prone to split ends. That's because heatbreaks down the cuticle, the protective outer layer of the hair that gives it it's shine.
So what should you do? Let your hair air dry. If you don't have time, set your hair dryer to cold.

And keep the dryer at least 6 inches away from the hair.
Also, when you get out of the shower, just wrap your hair in a towel.
Wet hair is incredibly fragile and just by vigorously towel drying the hair it stretches it beyond the breaking point.
Don't comb your hair when its wet. If you must, use a fat tooth comb, but there are some execeptions.
If you are an African American, It is better to comb and brush the hair while it is wet.
Other pieces of advice? Only use irons every other day and cut down on the hairspray.
