AUSTIN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — As of Sunday, September 1st, a medley of new laws are changing the way Texas motorist are driving.
One of the new laws allows paramedics to draw blood from a DWI suspect at the request of an officer to determine their blood alcohol content.
The Move Over or Slow Down law is in place for TxDOT vehicles with flashing lights, cell phone use in school zones is still prohibited, but is now extended to include driving through school property.
The fine for passing a school bus with it's flashing lights more than doubles from $200 to $500.
