Katy, TX — Sad story out of Katy, Texas as a 96 year-old grandfather died in his backyard, apparently attacked by a pack of dogs in his neighborhood.
The body of Juan Campos was found showing bite marks and with part of one leg missing.
Animal Control captured at least two dogs in the vicinity of the gruesome scene.
Residents say one of the dogs belonged to a neighbor who lived behind Campos.
Campo's grandson, Miguel Velasquez, discovered the body. "It's really hard. Um, this wasn't something I was expecting to come home to, you know? And it just shocked me. It shocked me... badly."
The grandson said there were three "pit bull type" dogs near his grandfather's body. A dog belonging to the Campos family was also also killed.
Investigators haven't ruled out the possibility that Campos died of natural causes and was bitten by the dogs afterward and a autopsy is being performed.
