BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A Brownsville teen is behind bars, on capital murder charge.
Nineteen year old Ramon Alberto Quiroga Gonzalez appeared with his attorney this morning to face capital murder charges in the death of 51 year old Servando Betancourt.
The victim's body was found last week in his home.
Authorities say blunt force trauma was the cause of death.
The victim's car was also stolen and recovered in Mexico earlier this week.
The D-A's office recommended a one million dollar bond for the teen, given the fact that he confessed to the crime, telling investigators that it was planned and that they want to the home of off Sandia road with the intent to rob and kill the victim.
His attorney however, expressed his client maintains his innocence.
Judge Neece followed the states recommendation and gave the teen a million dollar bond.
Meanwhile, blue ribbons decorate the house of the slain victim.
Police say several more people will be arrested in connection to this crime.
