A Brownsville man accused of committing the city’s first murder of the year claims he’s not the man police want.
According to his lawyer, 32 year-old Rolando Garza is just a witness to murder but police on the other hand say he is the trigger man they have been after and have the evidence to prove it.
Garza plead not guilty to murder charges to the shooting death of 30 year-old Aaron Castillo. Police say a group shot Castillo at least three times outside of his home on Garden street Monday night. They say Castillo was driving in his gray pick up truck when two men got into a confrontation with one of his family members, a passenger in the truck.
Police say Castillo and the family member drove to their home, but several cars followed them and Castillo stopped his truck in front of his house. Police say Garza and another man, 27 year-old Randall Bolivar shot Castillo as he stepped out of his truck.
Brownsville police say they are confident they have the right man and are investigating the motive of the fight. The second suspect, Randall Bolivar, is at large and if you have any information that may lead to his arrest contact the Brownsville Crime Stoppers at 956.546.TIPS.
