Hostage situation inside Louisiana bank ends with two dead.
(KTVE) A hostage situation in a St. Joseph, Louisiana bank is over.
Louisiana State Police say the suspect and one of his hostages are dead.
A second hostage is hospitalized with gunshot wounds.
Police say shortly after midnight they entered Tensas State Bank after the suspect, identified as 20-year-old Faued Abdo Ahmed, shot the two hostages.
They then opened fire on Ahmed, killing him.
During a news conference, Col. Mike Edmondson with Louisiana State Police says this was never a bank robbery.
"My belief from the beginning is that this was not a bank robbery. He was attempting to make a statement and all evidence we uncovered through the night indicated he wrote things down that he was going to do," Edmondson said.
