BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Brownsville police arrested a man accused of using a siren to pass other drivers in traffic.
On Tuesday, August 6th officers received complaints of a Chrysler 300 activating a siren that impersonated the sound of law enforcement vehicle and causing traffic to pull over in the area of Jaime Zapata and Robindale.
Officers located the vehicle near the Walmart on Boca Chica, and questioned the driver, identified as Jose Mora, 23.
Mora's car was inspected by the officer who found a siren, behind the grill, and a control box under the steering wheel.
When asked about the complaints made about his vehicle, Mora claimed that a friend had been driving the car earlier and had been the one activating the siren.
Police arrested Mora and he was charged with impersonating a public servant and been placed on a USBP detainer.
