Police in Live Oak, Texas have arrested a woman for child abandonment, after a child was found in a garbage can.
Police say Brittany Ciccotti admitted to officers that she smoked synthetic marijuana, before entering a stranger's home as she carried a small child.
Police found her later that day and also discovered the child inside a garbage container in the driveway of a home in the same neighborhood.
Ciccotti was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and then placed under arrest.
She's charged with abandoning a child, which is a second degree felony.
Sgt. Anita Seamans of Live Oak Police Department, commented: "We've heard about people that have been smoking synthetic marijuana that have driven off of cliffs, and attacked their families, and they start hallucinating, I mean this stuff is horrible. And this is just an example of what happens when you smoke that stuff and we get a woman that ends up throwing her baby in a trash can."
Officers say the child was not hurt and is now in the custody of Child Protective Services.
