BROWNSVILLE (NEWS CENTER 23) — Brownsville's plans to expand the hiking and bicycle trails are now official.
The city received a grant to link Fort Brown to existing trails like Resaca De Las Palmas and others that are located downtown.
The city received a grant for about seven hundred and forty-six thousand dollars from the Transportation Enhancement Program.
This will add two-point-seven five miles of trail to the one that's already in place.
Ultimately, this will help link trails across the city so that more cyclists and pedestrians have a bigger stretch of travel.
