HIDALGO CITY (NEWS CENTER 23) — The people of San Carlos, can expect to have an outdoor area close to their homes soon.
Hidalgo county officials broke ground on a new park at the cornor of highway 1-0-7 and sunflower road. It's a 70 acre area, and the plan calls for a community center as well. The park is expected to have basketball courts, walking trails, baseballs and soccer fields.
Organizers are looking at a six month timeline for the project.
The project is being paid for with federal funds.
It's total cost is estimated at more than a million dollars.
