BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Brownsville Community Foundation will host their 2013 Grant Award Presentation at Lola's Bake Shop on Friday, July 26th.
The foundation will be awarding a total of over $54,000 to 10 local non-profit organizations; The Brownsville Adult Literacy Council, Guadalupe Regional Middle School, The Vannie E. Cook Cancer Clinic, Cameron County Children’s Advocacy Center, The Valley AIDS Council, Healthy Communities of Brownsville, The Moody Clinic, The Children’s Museum of Brownsville, Gladys Porter Zoo Docent Council and The United Way of Southern Cameron County.
Since it's inception, the foundation has awarded nearly $5 million in grants to a number of community based organizations addressing education, economic development, arts and culture, environment, human and and health care.
