SAN JUAN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — A group of gang members are facing charges for their role in a brutal attack of rival gang members.
Police say a pair of Sureno 13 gang members were ambushed by four members of the Po Boy gang in San Juan. Officers stopped the four suspects with blood on their clothes.
They're all facing first and second degree felony charges, which carry up to 119 years in prison. Their ages range between 17 and 20 years old.
"They think that it's the same juvenile punishment," said Rolando Garcia of the San Juan Police Department. "We see it a lot when an 18 year old, a 17 year old, 'hey, I'm still a juvenile,' no sir, you're an adult in the eyes of the state.... These guys aren't your typical gang fights, where they want to settle it with fists and what have you, these guys actually bring out weapons and they really want to hurt people."
The police are still searching for a fifth suspect, the daughter of the home owner where the assault took place.
