BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Brownsville police arrested three men for stealing a car and then selling the parts as scrap metal.
On Tuesday, July 16th police received a call in regards to a of a 1995 Ford F-150 being stolen at a thrift store located at 230 Security Drive.
Officers spotted the truck and three men, identified as Alejandro Tovar, 31, Nestor Raymundo De La Fuente, 19, and Edgar Eduardo Martinez Torres, 27, at the Esco scrap metal buisness off of 511 and removing the tires of the stolen vehicle to get money for the parts.
All three me were arrested and charged with theft and engaging in organized criminal activity and police are now looking at other vehicle theft cases.
