BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Brownsville police have arrested on man and are searching for two others in the burglary of a items at an apartment complex.
On Monday, July 15th officers were dispatched to a burglary in progress at JJ Apartments, located on 224 South Iowa, giving a description of a vehicle leaving the scene.
Police spotted the car and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the three suspects fled on foot with one suspect, identified as Mario Alberto Avalos, 30, was arrested.
The vehicle, used in the burglary, was searched and officers did find property that belonged to the victim from the apartment.
Avalos was charged with burglary of habitation, evading on foot and engaging in organized criminal activity and handed a $30,500 bond, the other two suspects are still at large.
