CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — A blast rocked the studio of a local TV station in Texas on Friday when a nearby home exploded.
Members of the morning news team at KIII were saying good morning to their viewers Friday when moments later an explosion disrupted the newscast.
In fact, the explosion of the home could be felt all over town.
Corpus Christi firefighters responded to the blast and found one victim in the backyard of the property.
Medics rushed two people at the home to the hospital with critical injuries.
Crews later transferred the two, ages 25 and 60 years-old to a burn unit in San Antonio
Good Samaritans rushed in on Friday and pulled several people to safety. Local and state investigators are searching for the cause of the blast.
The American Red Cross says the blast destroyed three homes, damaged 15 others and broke out windows in dozens of other homes and apartments.
