PHARR, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Custom and Border Protection officers arrested a Mexican woman who attempted to smuggle cocaine and meth at a port of entry.
On Wednesday, June 26, CBP officers encountered a beige 2002 Dodge Neon, driven by a 18 year-old female, at the Pharr International port of entry.
The woman was referred to a secondary inspection where officers searched and found ten packages of suspected narcotics hidden inside the rear bumper of the car.
Officers removed eight packages of alleged cocaine weighing over 20 pounds and two packages of alleged meth weighing over 4 pounds.
CBP seized the drugs, which the street value was estimated at $643,000 for the cocaine and $72,000 for the meth, and arrested the woman.
