SAN JUAN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — The mural at the San Juan Basilica is complete. Workers finished the 45-foot tall mural on Sunday.
It consists of 200,000 tiles and took almost two weeks to repair. Before, it had some weather damage and was vulnerable in serious weather.
"I think it's very beautiful, pretty, and you can see it from the freeway," said Ambrosio Yanez, a visitor to the Basilica. "It's nice. To me, it's very nice."
The repairs were done by a company that specializes in mosaics based out of San Antonio.
