HIDALGO COUNTY, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — A man shot by Hidalgo County sheriff's deputies is facing three charges of aggravated assault.
Oscar Granados of San Juan, did not attend his arraignment Friday June 14th because doctors are still treating him for his injuries.
Sheriff's deputies earlier this month shot Granados three times, officials say he approached officers with a long knife and a baseball bat.
Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino, "He is a person that has violent tendencies, he very obviously demonstrated them when he attempted to attack our officers, he attacked a wife."
The sheriff says he's surprised Granados didn't die after being shot with 45-Caliber rounds.
He also says the incident on June 8th is at least the fourth time deputies have been called to the Granados home.
