Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison made a stop in the Valley Monday to speak out against the health care legislation approved over the weekend by the House of Representatives. The Senator was at the McAllen International Airport speaking her voice on health care. The Senator does believe that health care reform is important but does not believe it should governmentally focused.
"We need to have doctors and health care providers and hospitals be able to function with patients as their decision makers not the government. "
David Garza with is part of the Justice Advocacy Group in Hidalgo County. He along with others held signs out McAllen Airport opposing Hutchison's view on health care.
Now even though it passed through the House the health care reform still has to go through the senate for approval. Besides health care Hutchison touched on the Fort hood tragedy. She visited Fort Hood over the weekend. Her thoughts and prayers go out the families.
