HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — A Harlingen resident is forced to protect himself after he confronts a man on his backyard property.
On Saturday, June 8, police were dispatched to a home in the 8100 block of West Business 83 in regards to a man with a knife.
When officers arrived to the home they witnessed the victim holding down the suspect, later identified as Jimmy Trevino Moody, 40, on the ground.
The victim informed police that he had heard his dogs barking and stepped outdoors to see why, that's when he confronted Moody on why he was on his property, which in turn, Moody displayed a knife and stated to the victim that he was going to hurt him.
Moody charged at the victim, who used a tree limb to protect himself, stabbing the homeowner in the abdomen, pectoral area and left wrist.
Police arrested Moody for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and the victim was taken to a hospital for his injuries.
