BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) —
A jury has sentenced Adrian Barrera to 25 years in prison for the murder of Ramiro Barron III.
Barron III was killed on November 2011 after he returned a gun, owned by Barrera, and as he begged Barrera not to shoot him.
A Cameron County jury has found a defendant guilty of killing a Harlingen man in the back on November 2011.
Adrian Barrera, 28, was found guilty in the death of Ramiro Barron III, 27, when he shot Barron in the back three times.
Through the investigation, it was discovered that Barron had previously taken a gun from a friend of Barrera, an armed Barrera confronted Barron and demanded the return of the gun.
Barron, accompanied by friends, returned the gun back to Barrera who then shot Barron in the back and then threaten Barron's friends about speaking about the incident.
Barrera faces 5 to 99 years, or life, in prison for the first degree felony.
