AUSTIN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Two Texas cities, Houston and Dallas, have ranked in the top percentage for job recovery.
Houston, had a 230 perecent increase, with the city of Dallas coming in second at 164.2 percent.
Houston, the first major city to regain all the jobs lost in the downturn, has now added more than two jobs for every one it lost after the crash.
A major factor in Houston's recovery is its oil industry, energy prices fell later and recovered earlier than the rest of the economy, and its proximity to Mexico.
