AUSTIN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — The Texas Department of Public Safety will be doing commercial vehicle inspections from June 4th through June 6th as part of Roadcheck 2013.
Roadcheck 2013 is a nationwide three day enforcement campaign in an attempt to increase motor carrier, vehicle, driver and cargo safety and security.
Troopers will be on the lookout for 18-wheelers and commercial buses with equipment violations and drivers not in compliance with state and federal requirements.
Specially trained Troopers will be inspecting the commercial vehicles for violations involving brakes, tires, lights and loading standards, for drivers, Troopers will be inspecting driver licenses and log books documenting how long the driver has been on the road.
