MCALLEN, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Jim Darling was sworn-in Tuesday night at City Hall along with several city commissioners and public utility board members.
Darling has been the city attorney, assistant city manager and was a city commissioner for the last six years.
"First thing is I want to listen to our city and see what they think," Darling said. "I don't have all the answers but I think several projects I would like to do is improving our traffic flow in our city which is the number one complaint I get... And generally making sure McAllen has a friendly business community."
Darling also said he wants to work with surrounding cities to take advantage of regional opportunities when they present themselves.
