McAllen, TEXAS (KVEO NEWSCENTER 23) — Two Mexican nationals have been sentenced to prison following convictions on crack cocaine trafficking.
Emmanuel Barrientos, 33, was sentenced to 14 years and Juan Trevino, 38, was sentenced to over 6 years for possessing with the intent to distribute crack cocaine.
An investigation was opened in August 2011 by the DEA and the Rio Grande City PD into a crack cocaine distribution network in Rio Grande City.
From the undercover operations a federal grand jury indicted 11 individuals and revealed a crack cocaine distribution network involving two residential homes.
The nine remaining individuals have been convicted and sentenced to prison.
