HIDALGO CITY, TEXAS (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — Look out for killer bees in the valley.
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees hockey team is coming back and will play its games at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo.
The Bees are part of the North American Hockey League. The NAHL is made up of 24 teams from across the country with players younger than 21 years old.
The team is moving here from Wenatchee, Washington.
"When we had the opportunity to relocate our team, it was pretty easy to come down to Hidalgo and the Rio Grande Valley," said Bees President Bill Stewart. "Looking at the building, looking at the community, see the support the team's had in the past, and really get excited for the opportunity that's in front of us."
The old Killer Bees left the Valley in 2012. The first game will be sometime in early October.
