HARLINGEN, TX (KVEO NEWS CENTER 23) — NBA Hall of famer George The 'Iceman' Gervin is in the Rio Grande Valley supporting a good cause.
Tomorrow the hall of famer will teach a basketball clinic to benefit hope four kids living with diabetes.
The organization is a non profit formed by parents of diabetic children... family and community leaders.. in order to support each other in the daily challenges associated in living with diabetes.
"let our babies know we love them and how important it is to eat right, exercise and deal with that dreaded disease of diabetes, some are unfortunate to be born with it and then you talk about type 2 diabetes with not excerpting and eating right and we are just trying to bring awareness to that."
Today's Clinic is at the UTB REC center in Brownsville at 9 a-m. The clinic for boys and girls ages 7-18. Its cost 50 dollars.
